Happy National Homebrew Day!

Hello lovelies,

Delicious small batch beer made down the street is as close to homebrew as you can get without having stinky buckets of hops sitting in your living room, so come on over for some yummy Memphis Made brews tomorrow morning! While you're in that DIY mood, stop by the info tent for our special radish pickling recipe, visit Coop Memphis for some tips on how to make homemade detergent and chat with our farmers about what starts to plant where and when!

Because it's finally May, and the first Saturday of the month, we will be holding our monthly artisan fair and dog adoption tent. Can't wait to see you on this perfect sunny day.

See you Saturday!

This week's vendor highlight features Steve Fulwood, from Cold Comfort Farm.

CYCFM: How did you being farming?

SF: Over the last 10 years I began to think about how my grandparents lived and thought it was a simple and rewarding life. I remember telling people that what I wanted was some chickens, a milk cow and a big garden. My plan was to continue to work in the insurance industry til I was 65 then start growing organically for market. I had a bigger garden every year, growing for my table. Then September 2011  I was made redundant and decided to do market gardening.

CYCFM: What is your favorite crop to grow?

SF: My favorite crop is heirloom tomatoes. They are a labor of love; susceptible to every pest, virus, bacteria and fungus known to man; low producing and just plain finicky, often misshapen, prone to splitting, cracking, catfacing but delicious beyond words.

CYCFM: How do you relax on the farm?

SF: I like to read, play guitar, cook and drink wine.

CYCFM:
6. What is your favorite part about the Cooper Young Community Farmers Market?
