RCREEE Discusses Economic and Political Environment for Renewables at FES Berlin

On 21 April 2015, RCREEE participated in a panel discussion titled: “Moving away from oil?...Towards energy transformation in the Middle East. The panel session was held on the occasion of the “International Week of Justice” organized by Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) in Berlin. Dr. Tareq Emtairah, Executive Director at RCREEE explained how the current economic and political environment for renewables could be assessed given the dramatic turmoil in the region, and how the recent cuts in subsidies helped the Egyptian government meet its own goals. RCREEE Discusses Egypt Energy Future in Rome

On 20 April, 2015, RCREEE participated in the executive conference “Delivering Renewable Energy Investments in Egypt: Challenges and Opportunities” in Rome. Dr. Tareq Emtairah, Executive Director at RCREEE was a keynote speaker at the opening session of the conference. In his presentation on the Progress towards Sustainable Energy Development, Dr. Emtairah highlighted the policy framework & institutional capacity in the MENA region, in addition to Trends in developers’ market. On 23 April 2015, RCREEE participated in the International Conference “Arab Governance Energy Forum” in Lebanon. Dr. Maged Mahmoud, Head of Projects and Technical Affairs at RCREEE was a keynote speaker in the roundtable discussion: “Renewable Energies towards a Green Future”. Dr. Mahmoud presented: "Renewable Energy Governance in the Arab Region: Facing the Challenges".
