Save the Date!
O my people, hear my teaching…We will not hide them from their children, but tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the Lord, and His might, and the wonders He has done. Psalm 78:4
Plans are already underway for 2015 Holiday Potpourri, an annual fundraising event in the life of First Presbyterian Day School. This year’s community event is scheduled for Friday, October 16, 2015, at the home of Charles and Anne Pringle in the Fondren neighborhood. Between 1,200 and 1,500 guests attend Holiday Potpourri, which includes something for everyone: a home showcase, Tasting Tea, Silent Auction, Bountiful Bakery, and performances by our Honor Choir and Strings students. This will also be a special and important year as FPDS celebrates 50 years of excellence in Christian education.
Since 1974, Holiday Potpourri has provided critical support in enhancing our children’s education, including a new world-class science lab, iPads for our classrooms, and an upgraded playground. This year’s Holiday Potpourri funds will assist with the purchase of Chromebooks for our fifth and sixth grade students as well as support enhancements to our existing facilities. Students will use Chromebooks to research and write papers and to sharpen their keyboarding skills in preparation for middle school.

Remember Bountiful Bakery This Summer!
Calling all you CAN do-its!
We want to PRESERVE your talents,
Before we JAM for the summer
So we’re not in a PICKLE!
We welcome jams, jellies, preserves, pickles, jarred dry mixes, honey, canned fruits or veggies to sell in the Bountiful Bakery tent at Holiday Potpourri. This is a great way to get grandparents involved, too. We are also in need of baker’s racks and shelving to display these tasty items during the event. If you have anything you can loan or any questions please contact Jill Barton jibarton@comcast.net, Allison Grubbs allisongrubbs04@yahoo.com or Mollie Gregory molliemurphy@hotmail.com.
