Glasgow to host ECCA 2017
CXC and partners from academia, policy, charities and local and national government, have successfully bid to bring the 3rd European Climate Change Adaptation Conference (ECCA) to Glasgow in 2017.
This leading climate change conference will attract around 1000 delegates from the UK, Europe and around the world, and be a show case for the partnership approach Scotland is taking to climate change adaptation and resilience.

CXC is hosting several key energy debates, lectures and seminars over the next few weeks:
Public perceptions of climate change in the aftermath of the winter 2013-14 flooding
The UK winter flooding of 2013/14 provided a unique opportunity to investigate whether personal experiences of extreme weather events might change public views on climate change. This seminar with Professor Nick Pidgeon will present the main findings and communication implications of a major British survey conducted for Cardiff University.
Household energy efficiency programme evaluation: does it tell us what we need to know?
A seminar by Dr Joanne Wade will present a summary of recent evidence about the impacts of energy efficiency programmes on household energy use, and consider whether this evidence tells us what we need to know to inform robust policy and programme design.

Making better decisions? Using Citizens' Juries in Scotland
Join the project team behind our unique citizens' juries, including Dr Oliver Escobar and Dr Jen Roberts, to hear about the bespoke design of the juries and the research findings.
The event will also discuss the potential for citizens’ juries to support decision making in Scotland.

UKERC Technology and Policy Assessment: Consultation Workshop
This consultation workshop provides an opportunity for stakeholders in Scotland to put forward priority research questions to be addressed during the UKERC’s third phase.
The meeting will consist of an introduction to the TPA’s research methods and work to date, followed by a structured workshop on potential topics to be considered in the next phase of research.

RESAS highlights
The Scottish Government has published 2014 highlights from its on-going programme of strategic scientific research for the the Rural and Environment Science and Analytical Services (RESAS) division. The report sets out how ClimateXChange and other centres of expertise support the Government in linking long term research and policy.
The programme works on a on a five-year basis with planning for the 2016-21 programme well underway.
