The gang from Skegness who were responsible for installing Anglian Water's new ring main under Straight Road.
 

Connecting the pipe to the reamer ready to pull through under Straight Road
 
Here goes the reamer from the western side of Straight Road pulling the pipe under the road at a depth of 7.5m
 


An operator is on the digger suspending the pipe off the ground as it is pulled under the road.  





The pipe has to be suspended when above ground due to the flanges on the joins

About an hour later the pipe finishes it's journey to the western side of Straight Road
 

 The route the ring main followed from Ardleigh Reservoir to Gt Horkesley treatment works.  A total of 11 km (6.6 mi) and 5 roads to tunnel under.
