Volume 6, Issue 5 - May 2015

The recent surge of senior housing /healthcare construction projects is obvious to many, including Michael Cooper, MAI, President and Founder of The Cooper Valuation Group in Chicago. His most complex deals are those involving either new construction or substantial rehabilitation. Mr. Cooper recently worked with Cambridge Realty Capital on a complex market analysis study for an extensive rehab project in Missouri that the owner wanted to finance using the HUD Lean program.

“For this client we did an exhaustive supply and demand analysis and were able to reach a supportable solution. Cambridge stayed with us every step of the way making certain we covered all the bases,” he said. “They’re the best at vetting deals first in order to eliminate hiccups later on. A lot of lenders don’t do that.”

Mr. Cooper believes that Cambridge has emerged as one of the nation’s most successful senior housing/healthcare lenders because the company “has focused on building client relationships and doing a quality job. It helps that the company’s principals are very smart guys,” he added.
