Construction Update
Handicapped Ramp is Open!
The crumbling chimney has been removed, and the way has been opened for the installation of an automatic door. We are welcome to use the old door at the top of the handicapped ramp this weekend.
Discoveries this week. . .
The hot water heater for the church resides in the kitchen adjacent to the Great Hall. The venting system for this gas appliance has been inadequate for some time. This discovery was made during the work on the elevator shaft. As a safety precaution, the hot water heater has been shut down. So, NO HOT WATER from any faucet this weekend.
Grounds clean-up and landscaping
Gary Cole is pictured on his mini-earth mover, cleaning up the extreme western edge of our property where invasive weeds and a dead tree were removed last week.
Coming next week!
Wes Clarke Masonry will commence repairs on the front entrance of the church as the plans are drawn up for the new door in the back.
Meanwhile, plumbers will replace the old hot water heater in the basement and make a dramatic improvement to the venting system of the same, which was compromised nearly 20 years ago at the installation of the elevator.
Top soil will be delivered to smooth out the excavation on our western boundary.
Questions or comments about these on-going projects can be directed to any member of the Vestry.
