HELP US SEND A KID TO A PARK: DONATE

We are getting close, everyone! In just five days kids and families across the country will head outdoors to celebrate Kids to Parks Day on Saturday, May 16th. With hundreds of amazing local, state, and national park events planned and posted on kidstoparks.org, you can treat yourself and your loved ones to a grand outdoor adventure. What a great way to kick off the summer!

Your friend,

Buddy Bison

Get Out and Go on Saturday, May 16th!

This is the 5th anniversary of Kids to Parks Day and First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move! initiative. Check out my top five KTP Day stories below in honor of the Let’s Move! theme of #GimmeFive.

Meet Tigran: Our First Student Buddy Bison Ambassador!

I am thrilled to announce 4th-grader Tigran Nahabedian as our first student Buddy Bison Ambassador. Tigran is an enthusiastic park traveler and has already completed 44 Junior Ranger Programs - even becoming the first Junior Ranger Underwater Explorer at Channel Islands National Park! “It is an honor to be the first student Buddy Bison Ambassador. I want to help support children who can’t afford to go to the National Parks by encouraging people to purchase a Buddy Bison. Going to National Parks should be a right, not a privilege,” said Tigran.

Read more about Tigran here, and be sure to check out his interview with Channel Islands Park Ranger Kelly Moore at this link. We look forward to featuring Tigran’s park travels and stewardship tips in future Buzz issues, so stay tuned.

Photos, Photos and More Photos

One of my favorite parts about Kids to Parks Day is receiving your photos. Whether it’s pictures of smiling faces, beautiful landscapes, wildlife, or "selfies," share your KTP Day experiences with me and National Park Trust. Last year I received tons of wonderful KTP Day photos. This year I hope to see even more! Send your photos to buddy@buddybison.org or fill out our online form at buddybison.org.

Now it’s your turn to #GimmeFive ways you plan to celebrate Kids to Parks Day!
