May Means Spay!

Springtime is kitten time at Regina Cat Rescue and we need your help! On May 1, RCR launched its May Means Spay campaign. The campaign goal is to raise funds to spay and neuter the large number of cats that come into our care in the spring, and to encourage pet owners to spay and neuter their pet cats. Make a donation and know you’ve made a difference in the life of an abandoned cat or kitten www.youcaring.com/MayMeansSpay

April & May Metro cats

Thank you to Metro Pet Market for helping Regina Cat Rescue by Spaying It Forward! In April, Metro paid for WeeZee's spay surgery as part of their on-going mission to foster responsible pet ownership. WeeZee was found with frostbitten ears, missing part of her tail and malnourished. She made a full recovery, and was adopted earlier this month. WeeZee is happy, healthy and doing great in her forever home.

This month, Metro paid for Nell’s spay surgery. Nell came into Regina Cat Rescue’s care in an unusual way – she tagged along with another rescue cat! But it worked out for the best because in foster care Nell blossomed from a shy and skittish cat into a total sweetheart. Now Nell is spayed - thanks Metro! - and ready for adoption. Rock Out for Catz N Dogz 2!

Join us for a night of local rock music on Thursday, May 28 at McNally's Tavern in support of Regina Cat Rescue and Bright Eyes Dog Rescue. Bands performing include Big Bad Storm, Sonic Orchid, Iroc Camaro and Leather Cobra. Tickets are $15 at the door. You can also purchase tickets in advance at Metro Pet Market (1637 Victoria Avenue) and by emailing reginacatrescue@gmail.com or brighteyesdogrescue@hotmail.com.

Wedding favour program

Regina Cat Rescue has made it easier for happy couples who wish to include Regina’s abandoned kitties in their wedding celebrations! In lieu of traditional wedding favours, couples can make a donation to RCR. RCR provides wedding place cards to inform guests of the thoughtful gesture and issues a tax receipt to the newlyweds in the amount of the donation. Suggested donation amounts are on our website.

Cathederal street fair

The Cathedral Village Arts Festival street fair is on Saturday, May 23. Regina Cat Rescue will be set up in the Garnet Street parking lot, next to Holy Rosary Cathedral. While we won’t have cats at this year’s street fair, we will have plenty of cat-themed goodies for sale! And if you didn’t get a chance to buy an RCR t-shirt, you can buy yours at the street fair for just $25!
