Strange & Wonderful Illinois
Monday, May 11 • 7-8pm
Come join us on a slideshow tour of quirky roadside attractions, unusual festivals, and surprisingly beautiful scenery in our state. Learn interesting Illinois trivia and how some towns got their names. Some scheduled stops on the tour are a two-story outhouse, a fire-breathing dragon, Punkin Chuckin, and vehicles in unorthodox places. Program presented by Jim and Paula Hantak.
Chair Yoga
Friday, May 15 • 11am-12pm
Yes, you can practice yoga while seated in a chair! Certified yoga instructor Joan Zigulich of Yoga Pathway, LLC will guide you in this practice designed for everybody. The focus will be on simple movements designed to stretch and strengthen the whole body—ideal for office workers or if you’re concerned with getting down on the floor. This practice will leave you feeling relaxed and centered.
Resume Workshop
Saturday, May 16 • 10am-12pm
The popular resume workshop presenter Bob Schlacks has the information you need to improve your resume! Workshop topics include: what should and shouldn't be on your resume; the 5 categories of information your resume must contain; how to make your resume move to the top of the stack; breaking down your work experience using action verbs; and examples of actual resumes.
How to Use the New Library Catalog
Monday, May 18 • 6:30-7:30pm
Find out how to use the online library catalog and explore its new features. You will learn how to search for items, place holds from our library and others in the system, checkout ebooks from the catalog, access your account, make a wish list, and track the items you checked out. There will also be time for questions.
Intermediate Computer Basics
Tuesday, May 12 • 10:00-11:30am
Review materials covered in Computer Basics, learn about the computer’s control panel, saving to a flash drive, changing desktop backgrounds, copying and pasting, saving images from the web, and organizing files and folders. You will also have time to practice using the skills taught in class.
Internet & Email Basics
Tuesday, May 19 • 10:00-11:30am
During this class you will learn about different browsers and how they work, links and web addresses, search engines, and setting up a Gmail account for email.
Microsoft Excel 2013
Thursday, May 21 • 6:30-8:00pm
Learn about the ribbon, formatting and resizing, basic formulas, auto fill, basic cell errors, and preparing a document for printing. While learning how the program functions, you will create a calendar with clipart.

Thursday, May 14 • 7:00-8:30pm
This month's book is Ratlines by Stuart Neville. Discussion will be led by Eva Baggili and light refreshments will be served. Pick up a copy of the book in advance at the Circulation Desk.

Block of the Month Quilting Club

Calling all quilters and beginners! Eileen Uchima will continue to demonstrate squares in order to have our quilts completed in May 2015. Supply list available at the library.

Project Next Generation:
Photographic Sewing

Tuesday, May 12 • 6-7pm
We have merged two of our PNG components together to bring you Photographic Sewing. Participants will checkout a digital camera, snap their favorite photos, print their images on transfer paper, sew a string backpack, and iron their photo onto their bags. Registration begins Monday, March 30 and is open to the first 16 participants who sign up and make the commitment to attend the 4 sessions.

Registration must be done in person at the Youth Services Desk.
Speed Stacking Tournament
Tuesday, May 12 • 7-8pm
Practice your cup stacking skills and race against your friends.
 
Crafting with Rainbow Looms
Use the library looms and bands to make your own rubber band creations.
You have access to thousands of ebooks, audiobooks, and electronic magazines with your Chicago Ridge Public Library card. If you need help accessing these on your device, we will be happy to assist you.
