Third Grade Story Projects

The third grade students completed culminating projects that integrated technology, writing, art, collaboration and critical thinking. Please watch them!

Faculty Announcement

We are excited to announce that Jennifer Sigurdson will be teaching with Mary Cleland in Lower Elementary South in the fall.  With several qualified, internal applicants we are grateful and humbled that Miss Jennifer will implement her Montessori curriculum and philosophy knowledge to the next plane of development.

She has been at MSBG for nine years and has worked in both upper and early childhood. She has been co-teaching with Miss Cindy for five years in Early Childhood East. She holds a Bachelors degree in Education. She completed her American Montessori Society training in the Spring 2012.

Library

Summer Reading/MSBG Student Book Reviewers

Summer reading lists are now available in the library!  Please stop in and pick up a copy, as well as a log for students to record their summer reading activities. Students who complete a summer reading log and return it to the library will have the option to become the first MSBG Student Book Reviewers!  Interested students will have their photo taken and will be asked to complete a book review form.  The book review and the student's photo will be displayed in the library for other students to find, read, and be inspired!  Please encourage your child to take home a book review form along with the summer reading log so they can complete the review when the material is still fresh in mind.

Reminder:
Please return all materials to the library no later than Friday, May 22nd.  Returned books should be placed on the library cart for re-shelving. Thank you for your cooperation.

Community Celebration

June 2:  You are invited!

On the last day of school, we’ll have a Community Celebration honoring another year of exploration, growth, and achievement at MSBG.

11:15 all-school assembly to close the school year and graduate our eighth grade class
11:30 picnic lunch on the grounds (please pack a ready-to-eat lunch for your child/ren and bring one for yourself)
1:00 carnival games, inflatables, and a scavenger hunt
3:00 pick-up as usual, or after care

We hope you can take the afternoon off to celebrate with us—for the whole time or any part. This event will be different from the Field Day we’ve had in past years because it will happen within a regular school day. So if parents can’t escape work, the kids still get to participate. Thanks to everyone who took part in CAPE’s spring fundraiser, which made it possible for us to rent inflatables.
If you are interested in volunteering, please let us know!

Also, special activities are being planned by each classroom; click here for a copy of the form:
