Thanks for your support during Idaho Gives!
We had a very successful Idaho Gives 2015 thanks to the generosity of our members (and some newcomers, too!). Our goal was to collect 50 unique donations in order to receive our bonus award of $1,350 from our board. We reached 56 donations that day for a total of $3,275 raised.
Thank you so much to everyone who donated, shared our posts, and spread the word about Idaho Gives on May 7th. We appreciate your generosity!

Radio Boise partners with Idaho Smart Growth to go green
As part of building healthier communities in Idaho we have been looking at ways to promote the use of renewable energy. Idaho Power’s Green Power Program provides a way of offsetting the power produced by dams and coal with solar and wind energy. We decided to partner with Radio Boise to get the word out to the largest possible audience. Radio Boise’s broadcast transmission uses a lot of energy—nearly as much as 5 homes. ISG is covering the cost premium to purchase renewable energy credits (RECs) to match that with 100% renewable energy. This means that ISG has now made Radio Boise the greenest radio station in Idaho! More information here.

We are remodeling!
Did you know that Idaho Smart Growth has been in the same office for 15 years? We figured it's time for an upgrade, and our generous friends at the Sonna Building agreed. They donated the work to remodel our office and provided us with a temporary workspace (just down the hall) to use during the remodel. See the "before" and "during" pictures below, and stay tuned for the "after" pictures in our next update!

Congratulations to Sandpoint for being named a Walk Friendly Community by the Pedestrian and Bicycle Information Center. Sandpoint was honored because of its commitment to improving walkability and pedestrian safety. More information here.
