THANK YOU

I am extremely honoured to have been re-elected as the Member of Parliament for Harrow East. Thank you placing your trust in me and for returning me with an increased majority. I am proud to have been returned with just over 50% of the vote and I will work hard as always to represent the best interests of the people of Harrow East in Parliament.

MY PRIORITIES

The deficit is falling, employment is rising and our economy is growing. Hardworking taxpayers across Harrow East have seen the benefits of a Government with sound economic policies, but there is still more to do to make our area the best it can be. Here are a few of the priorities I aim to champion on your behalf:
SAFEGUARD OUR LOCAL AMENITIES
Stanmore Library, the Wealdstone Centre and Library, Harrow Arts Centre and Bob Lawrence Library were all placed under threat of closure by Harrow Council as part of a sweeping range of budget cuts and I fought hard to protect them. These services are absolutely vital so I will be working to make sure these and others locally are safeguarded in the future.
REGENERATE WEALDSTONE HIGH STREET
Now that there are proposals to make Harrow and Wealdstone Station a stop on the Crossrail extension, I want to see the station upgraded and grants in place to ensure that Wealdstone is an attractive prospect for regeneration projects so that much needed investment comes to the local area.
HELP RESIDENTS AROUND THE HIVE
I have been actively listening to the concerns raised by people living near Barnet FC’s Hive Stadium and he believes more needs to be done. Residents’ lives continue to be blighted by the traffic and parking problems and this will only get worse with more home matches being played than ever
IMPROVE LOCAL STATIONS
I have been pressing Transport for London for improvements ot our local stations as a matter of urgency. Both Stanmore and Canons Park stations need lifts to be installed and for better parking arrangements to be made. In the case of Stanmore Station, the need for a lift is even more important given that the station serves the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital nearby.
MAKE EDUCATION A PRIORITY
More school places are needed in Harrow, though 15 primary schools are currently expanding and Elmwood Primary School (pictured) is being rebuilt. Bob will continue to work hard to ensure that Government funding is provided to improve local schools and ensure we have the extra places we need.
SAFEST BOROUGH IN LONDON
Over the last 5 years, crime in Harrow has reduced by 20%. Last year, Harrow was ranked as the safest London Borough thanks to the excellent work of our local police service. I have regularly met Chief Superintendent Ovens to discuss the work being done on the ground to prevent crime and to improve victim support services. I will continue to report crime hotspots on your behalf so patrols can be increased.
A CLEANER HARROW FOR EVERYONE
Our Labour-run local Council has left our streets extremely dirty, with litter hotspots simply not receiving the attention they need to be properly dealt with. This is blighting the lives of residents and businesses so I am campaigning for a cleaner Harrow for everyone, with more done to combat fly-tipping and better maintenance for our streets.
I will also be continuing my campaigns to improve Stanmore Broadway's pedestrian crossings, to help get funding to Kenton Recreation Ground, to secure 30 minutes free parking outside shops to allow for a decent amount of time for customers to get what they need, and improving some of our shopping areas to attract more people to them, to name but a few items on the agenda. There are all kinds of issues which I will be taking forward on behalf of my constituents and I would encourage you to get in touch if you have any thoughts on these local problems.
