From discussions about sexual addiction, to the Draft National Design Bill the week has been quite an interesting one. After the launch of our #WTF Series, we started a discussion online and started with Bella, A piece done by Gladys Mwende. It addresses the problem of sexual addiction. Do you think it's a problem? How can it be addressed? Join the conversation on Twitter @cr8vesgarge and Facebook on Creatives Garage
Read on and find out what the Draft National Design Bill is all about and what it means to creatives and the creative industry.
Sexual addiction victims suffer in silence. Most of them dread speaking about their struggles to other people mostly because topics such as sex are viewed as a taboo here in Kenya and Africa at large. This is one of the unspoken issues that #WTF seeks to address.
‘Bella’ is a sensational piece done by spoken word artist Gladys Mwende. She narrates how Bella plunges into an abyss of sexual addiction. Bella is enslaved by her own lust for sexual gratification. She moves from one guy to another and nobody wants to save her from herself. This piece speaks of that which the society would rather hush up.

The Draft National Design Bill- Good Or Bad For Designers?
Have you ever looked at a poorly done poster and shook your head in disbelief? With the readily accessible internet and affordable computers, anyone who can get their hands on a design software starts to call themselves a designer- just take a walk through some of the streets in town. You will see banners advertising design businesses but walking into one, it’s not reflective of the business at all. This is what the Draft National Design Bill- 2013 seeks to address- to bring sanity to the industry.

Staircase Showcase Brings You Social Misfits By Faith Wanjala
I have always been fascinated by abstract paintings because of the freedom it gives me to interpret them my own way. When I first saw Faith Wanjala‘s paintings at the Staircase Showcase, it was love at first sight. Something about the mystery and hidden meanings provokes the mind and like a puzzle, you try to solve it.
Faith is a self taught artist who says is inspired by evocative human frustrations and emotions as well as social satire. This is the reason why she focuses more on abstract forms of figures and portraits, while capturing human frustrations and social satire. Her love for art started in high school where she honed her skills for two years and picked it up again in 2014. She practices with several mediums like acrylics, soft pastels, ink and watercolors.
Her art pieces are currently available for sale at Creatives Garage. The exhibition runs till 29th May, 2015. Pop in any time during the week from 9PM-5PM and have a look at her work.
