Senior Projects
Senior Molie Glass has started her own business. She might not make millions, but she's doing something she enjoys and is passionate about. Each senior student at Maui Prep has to work on a Senior Project; they each research a topic, do an internship and then make a presentation. Some examples in the past few years have been: surfboard shaping, photography, community service projects, and anything else the young, creative minds can envision.
This Wednesday, May 20, the seniors will be presenting their Senior Projects. Maui Prep's ten seniors will present their creative projects to teachers, parents, peers, and the community from 6:00-8:30 p.m. This is a semi-formal public presentation. Please come to see the work each student has chosen to deliver as their personal projects. We hope to see you there as we celebrate an accomplishment of our seniors a week before their graduation!
Come hear about how Molie's Senior Project turned into so much more. "AquaPlushie is the blossoming extension of my 2015 Senior Project. I began making octopus plushies for pure fun; they were great gifts for friends, family, and young ones! Once it became time to choose a Senior Project, I decided to combine my love for sewing and entrepreneurship in hopes that these little plushies will bring a smile to your friends and loved ones as well! Each little Octoplushie is lovingly hand made in Maui; the head and top of the tentacles are made with soft dimples plush, 100% Polyester, fabric. Each octopus stands about 7.5 inches tall and 7.5 inches wide. Each Octoplushie is $30.00, with a portion of the proceeds going towards Nepal relief."
