THE MERCY OF WILD THINGS is RED EARTH & RUST`S fourth album of original material.
These are songs of love, loss and ecstasy.
They owe an equal debt to traditional folk, blues and alternative gospel.
Lyrics are by Barbara Fairhead. Album production by Jonny Blundell.

Albums will be on sale at the event for R150.

XYLITOL IS TOXIC TO BIRDS

A number of newspapers have carried a story about the inadvertent poisoning of Cape Sugarbirds with xylitol.
Xylitol is a sweetener than can be used as a substitute for sugar by diabetics and people who want to limit sugar in their diets.
However, xylitol has been shown to be toxic to birds and dogs and should never be used in nectar feeders instead of sugar.

ADU/WESSA CITIZEN SCIENCE EVENT IN CELEBRATION OF WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY 2015

WESSA and UCT's Animal Demographic Unit are hosting an exciting full day introduction to the world of CITIZEN SCIENCE on Saturday 6 June!
Join them for a fun and enlightening day with a wide variety of presentations and practical demonstrations from experts in the field, and learn how you can contribute more towards the conservation of your local environment. All welcome, no charge.

When: Saturday 6 June 2015
Where: WESSA Barn, 31 The Sanctuary, Kirstenhof 
Time: The event starts at 07h00 with with bird ringing, MyBirdPatch fieldwork and Virtual Museum photography, but the main programme gets going at 09h00.
