Sand Volleyball is catching fire!! All over the United States club's are making sand volleyball an option for their players. With over 100 colleges already playing sand volleyball as an NCAA sport, more are adding to this number every day. High School Sand Volleyball is exploding across the USA! Tournaments on the weekends during the summer along with training is expansing. Unlike the indoor game, Sand Volleyball is about a life style. A whole generaiton of girls and boys will be playing sand long after they have graduated from high school and college.
We are pleased to announce our 2015 Summer Sand Program for girls and boys 10U to 18U. With where the landscape of the Sand Program is taking in popularity, and the potential for scholarships, this program that was started a couple of years ago is offering different opportunities for the volleyball game in Central Illinois. The Sand Program will include a signature piece of the overall program with the Pat Powers Sand Clinic on May 20 and 21, 2015 from 5:00-9:00 pm at the Peoria RiverPlex. Many attributes of the Sand Game improves and enhances the indoor game, making players well rounded.
The clinic will cover:
* Sand Strategy
* Setting on the Sand
* Beach Defense
* Blocking strategies on the Sand
* Serving strategies on the Sand
* Passing differences between Sand and Indoors
* How to disguise shots on the Sand
******The highlight of the evening will be the game of "Survivor" where players will execute their new sand skills in a competitive format****
Registration can be made in person on May 20, 2015 at the Peoria RiverPlex from from 4:00-5:00 pm.
The competition part of the program will involve scrimmages and game play on Friday's and Sundays through out the summer, until the first of August. Detailed schedule to follow.
