Focusing on Improvement
June 2, 2015
How educator evaluation policies are understood and implemented on the ground is important for the continuous improvement of state efforts. Earlier this month, our team conducted focus groups in eight cities across Arkansas to gather honest feedback from educators and provide recommendations to the state.
We heard from nearly 200 educators including classroom teachers, specialists, school leaders and central office personnel representing over 90 districts of all sizes and from diverse geographic contexts. The feedback we gathered from them indicates that educators enjoy and benefit from the focus group process, as much as we do.
Ninety-nine percent of participants agreed the focus group was worth their time.
Ninety-nine percent of participants agreed their voices were heard.
