Join us!

In commemoration of Global Accessibility Awareness Day and the 25th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act, we invite you to join us for a virtual global conversation on best practices, lessons learned, and effective strategies to raise awareness of accessibility at the global, regional, national and local levels.

Share your experiences, as well as learn about IDPP's research projects and awareness-raising activities with its university and outreach partners, and government officials across the ASEAN region, the US, and around the world.

Why Accessibility Awareness?

More than one billion people in the world live with some form of disability (WHO/World Bank, 2011). This is approximately 15% of every country's population. This dialogue will address the importance of Article 8 (Awareness-Raising) and Article 9 (Accessibility) of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. It aims to bring together various groups to advance the spirit of the Convention and the Americans with Disabilities Act.
