Heli Ski US Mechanized Guide School comes to PNH

PNH started the season with the first ever Heli Ski US Mechanized Guide School. The school was held over a two week period at two HSUS operations. Student's spent the first week at Ruby Mountain Heli, learning the tools of the trade on what it takes to be a "mechanized" ski guide from HSUS instructors, Colin Zacharias, Joe Royer, Lel Tone, Kevin Quinn, and all of the guides at the participating operation.

Students then came to Alaska where PNH hosted the 2nd week of the school. Stable conditions and a maritime snowpack allowed for students to gain knowledge of what it's like to work and ski in the famous Chugach terrain.

Warren Miller visits Tour Camp

We are excited to say that this year's PNH / Warren Miller segment will be focusing on Points North heli accessed tour camp. Tour camp has been a special place over the past five years, providing memories and experiences of a lifetime. We are excited to have it captured for the 2015 Warren Miller film. Make sure to check out Helly Hansen athletes Marcus Caston, Kaylin Richardson, and Oyster Aasheim as they "earn their turns" and explore the Chugach in a different way.

Olympians Lindsey Jacobellis and Nate Holland

We were honored to have have Nate and Lindsey join us this season in Alaska. Both of these accomplished athletes are 3 time Olympians and know a thing or two about riding. While Nate has joined us before and simply keeps coming back because he can't get enough, this was Lindsey's first Alaskan heli experience and we were happy that she chose PNH to introduce her to the incredible Chugach.

I was also attracted to PNH because its "all inclusive" operation which would give me the best first experience for big mountain riding. The snow was amazing for April and while I was able to get an unforgettable week, l felt like I gained better knowledge of the backcountry. PNH is honored to host another sit skier in the Chugach

The Parks Family brought a special light to Points North this year and their energy and enthusiasm was infectious. Enabling these athletes to ride the Chugach Mountains at PNH is becoming a yearly thing. We are proud to be able to offer the opportunity to these guests, when most thought it was impossible. It's truly a rewarding experience for all involved.

Nate & Jessie - Married on a peak!

Nate has worked at PNH for over a decade. He started in the kitchen and recently turned into a PNH guide. He and his lovely wife Jessie said their vows surrounded by PNH staff members and the Chugach. It was a very magical wedding. Here's to a happy life together, Nate and Jessie!
