Message from the Chairman
Dear friends,
As we usher in the festival of Shavuot, the Jewish people are witnessing a dramatic and frightening rise in anti-Semitic crimes and rhetoric.
The struggle against the virus of Jewish-hatred, rampant in Europe and around the world, is becoming more complex and more difficult.
Here, at home, there are disturbing trends and signs of an ever increasing radicalism, anti-Semitism and intolerance.
As it has done for the last 36 years, the ADC never stands idly by.
Each and every day, we roll up our sleeves, helping the victims, keeping a watchful eye on the bigots and the Holocaust deniers, and building new bridges of understanding and trust.
Through our innovative and highly successful Click Against Hate program, offered free to all Victorian schools, we are changing hearts and minds, cutting off the poisonous weed of hate at the root.
Still, there is much work to be done and a long way to go before we fully realise our vision.
The ADC, standing at the forefront, knows that the evil of anti-Semitism is unceasing.
Our vigorous advocacy, outreach, publications, and educational initiatives are as critical today as they have ever been.
We are continuously guided by the invaluable lesson taught in the Ethics of the Fathers, “In a place where there are no men (leaders), strive to be a man (leader).”
As Chairman, I know that we cannot carry on this fight alone.
The ADC is immensely fortunate to have many friends who believe in our mission and who are committed to our cause.
I’d like to thank all the supporters of the ADC, whose steadfast trust and backing enable us to effectively address the daunting challenges that lie ahead, and to make our voice forcefully heard.
Together, they are helping us create a proud legacy for future generations.
Wishing you and your family a joyous Chag samech.
