Gregynog Festival 2015: Révolution

'Allons, enfants!'

Dear <<First Name>>

There's less than a week to go until Gregynog Festival 2015: Révolution. With a record 13 Wales or UK debuts, we've received a host of press recommendations, including the Daily Telegraph ('Wales' premier music festival ... top-rank performers of early music'), BBC Music Magazine ('20 Unmissable Events for June'), Early Music Today ('a strong early music programme featuring high-profile artists') and Western Mail ( 'a very international affair').

Don't miss this unique opportunity to enjoy the finest music played by the great international stars of our time in beautiful and intimate settings.

Visit our website for the full Festival listings and read on in this newsletter for more background to this weekend's events.

We all look forward to welcoming you very soon to the Gregynog Festival.

With best wishes

Our opening weekend takes its inspiration from the centenary of Gwendoline Davies founding the first Welsh Conservatoire at Aberystwyth.

Our free Cafe Culture lunchtime concerts at Oriel Davies Gallery in Newtown, Glansevern Hall near Berriew and The Hours Café and Bookshop in Brecon run from 9-11 June and feature Beatrice Newman, cello, and Bethan Semmens, harp, both members of the Live Music Now scheme.

On 13 June, we visit the National Library of Wales in Aberystwyth for a day programme with Iwan Llewelyn-Jones and in the evening, we host the Escher String Quartet from New York, a recital which is being recorded by BBC Radio 3.

On 14 June, we recreate the spirit of late 19th-century France with our candlelit concert in Llandinam Village Hall given by the Society of Strange and Ancient Instruments. Our visit to Plas Dinam on Monday 15th is almost sold out, but check the website for any returns.
On 17 June, we begin our programme of early music marking the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo with Fantasticus in the historic Ballroom at Powis Castle.
