Wedding day celebrations for our 100th show
Edith and Harold Ollerenshawe have pleasure in inviting you to the wedding of their only daughter Deirdre to Mark, son of Muriel and Ronald Greenhalgh, at The Brewhouse Arts Centre, Union Street, Burton-on-Trent.
We hope you'll be there to join the preparations, the celebrations and the aftermath of the wedding of the year as we present the Mike Harding comedy Fur Coat and No Knickers.
You may have read in last month's newsletter that this play has special significance for us - because it was the first play we performed at The Brewhouse Arts Centre back in March 1991. Until then we had been performing in the old Little Theatre in Guild Street.
We started life as the students' repertory group of the former Burton School of Speech and Drama, but when that closed in 1984 we struck out on our own as an independent amateur performing arts company. This June's show marks our 100th production since we became independent.
Mike Mear and Leon Ratcliffe appeared in the 1991 version as Kevin Ollerenshawe (brother of the bride) and Mark Greenhalgh (the bridegroom) respectively. In 2015 they are playing Nip (the bride's grandfather) and Ron (the bridegroom's father).
Caitlin Pritchard plays Deirdre the bride, and her mum Elaine plays her stage mum Edith. It's a practice run for them as Caitlin announced her engagement to fellow LTC member Alex Gill earlier this year.
Tickets are selling well for the show, so don't miss out. We've had some great publicity from the website Downstage Centre and the Burton Mail's Mail Remembers section.
You can book tickets online - no booking fee - at www.ticketsource.co.uk/littletheatreco or you can ring the box office on 01283-508100 or call in to the arts centre in person.
