Looking for a new job?
Become a leader in student media - apply to be The Daily Orange's next general manager.
After more than a decade of dedication to The Daily Orange, general manager Pete Waack is bidding goodbye to Syracuse and New York. Waack, The D.O.'s GM since 2001, was named CEO and President of the Rocky Mountain Student Media Corporation at Colorado State University. He begins his new role in Fort Collins, Colorado, this summer.
The D.O. is losing an institution in Waack, and he will be sorely missed. In true D.O. fashion, The Daily Orange Alumni Association compiled a duck, filled with memories of Waack as told by the students who were close with him. Read that duck here. A special thanks to those alumni who donated. The DOAA will be donating about $200 to The D.O. to commemorate Waack's time at 744.
That said, a unique opportunity is now open at 744 Ostrom Avenue. The new management team of Mara Corbett ('17) and Brett Samuels ('16) is searching for a general manager to lead The D.O. into the future. Are you looking for a new challenge in your professional life? Interested in trying to find ways to help students become the next great generation of journalists? Hoping to make a foray into academia and publishing? Consider applying to be the next general manager. Read more about the specifics here. And be sure to contact management at editor@dailyorange.com with questions.
