e. A public hearing on a proposed Ordinance amending the Code of the City of Petersburg by adding Section 110-270 to Article VII of Chapter 110, allowing for a civil penalty for passing a stopped school bus. Approved

f. A public hearing on a proposed Ordinance granting an easement across property addressed as 1320 Farmer Street to Columbia Gas of Virginia Approved

8. Public Information Period
a. Central Virginia Survivor Day is Saturday, June 13, 2015 from 8 a.m. to Noon at the Fire Training Division located at 1151 Fort Bross Drive. 40 people will be able to register for this free event. Each household receives a survivor bag free of charge. For more information, click here.
9. Business or reports for/from the Mayor or other members of City Council

a. Consideration of changing the name of Canal and Fleet Streets to University Boulevard Approved

b. Consideration of a Resolution authorizing the return of Governor's Development Opportunity Grant funds Approved

c. Consideration of a Resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute a Project Administration Agreement with VDOT Approved

d. Consideration of the appropriation of funds for the Earth Day for Kids Special Fund Account Approved

Vice Mayor Parham:
Petersburg Ward 3 representatives, Kenneth L. Pritchett, School Board Chairman, and Vice-Mayor Sam Parham, in collaboration with the Virginia Employment Commission and Goodwill Employment Centers are hosting a job fair for citizens on Monday, June 29th . The event will be held at Petersburg High School, 3101 Johnson Road from 4PM until 7PM.  Employers from the tri-cities area will be accepting applications at this event, which is free and open to the public.  Interested applicants should bring multiple copies of résumés and be prepared to complete applications and interviews.  For more information, call 804-835-4553 or 804-704-7339.
