June is a time when we can really start to experience the wonderful outdoors again. Weather permitting we will heading out on our
Spring Walk on
June 2nd. We will be exploring all the sights and sounds of Spring. We will be looking for a couple of volunteers to accompany us on the walk.
On the
4th of June it is going to be
Bike Day. We will be learning about bike safety, helmet safety and even giving our bikes a good clean. Each child needs to bring their bike, tricycle or strider bike to school that day along with their helmet. All items should be clearly labelled with the child's name.
On the
9th we will have out
Teddy Bear Picnic. Children can come dressed in their PJ's that day and bring along their favorite stuffy/teddy and a blanket to sit on.
We will be preparing for our
Father's Day Celebration the week of 11th June. On the
16th we have out
Father's Day BBQ. The
children do not come to school that day at our regular time. Instead they will come to school with their Dad's from 530-7pm. We will be asking for some Mom's to come and help us BBQ and serve and clean up that night. A sigh up sheet will be posted closer to the day.
Our last class of the year will be on
Thursday June 18th. For our final class together we ask that all parents, caregivers, stay for the class and enjoy the fun activites. We are hopng that this event will be largely outdoors and therefore we would be unable to safely monitor all the children without parenting help. From 9:30am - 10:15 we have a visit from "Rainbow the Clown" this is then followed by an extended snack time and a play at the park with other fun activities outside. We will provide the treats and snacks that day. If the weather does not cooperate, the fun activities & snacks will be help in the gym and classrooms.

June is always a fun time where we have many exciting things planned to celebrate our final month of preschool. We start the month off preparing for "RODEO SEASON" On Monday June 1st we will be busy making out own bandanas and then on Wednesday we will have Rodeo Day. Children are encouraged to come dressed as Cowboys & Cowgirls. We will be making a delicious pancake breakfast for our snack as well as enjoying many Rodeo activities - YEEHAA!!
On the 5th we have Pedalheads (click the link to find out more about them) coming into the school to teach us all about bike safety. Each child must bring a bike, tricycle or strider bike into school that day along with their helmet. All items must be clearly labelled with the child's name.
On Monday the 8th it is "CRAZY HAIR DAY" Spike it, curl it, color it, do whatever you can to make their hair CRAZY! The kids always enjoy this day and seeing what their friends are going to do with their hair. All the kids LOVE "BACKWARDS DAY" being held on June 12th, kids have fun doing EVERYTHING backwards. We encourage the children to even wear their clothes backwards that day.
Monday June 15th is GRADUATION DAY! This is a very special day for the children as we celebrate all that they have achieved and prepare them for the next step on their education journey. Children come into school at normal time and then we ask that parents/caregivers come back into school at 1045am for the morning class and 245pm for the afternoon class.
Please bring your camera and don't forget your Kleenex!
Our final day of class is
Wednesday June 17th and this is our
Year End Picnic. Weather permitting we will be outside. We ask that parent/caregivers drop their children off at the regular time and then return
10am for the morning and
2pm for the afternoon to join us for snacks and our special entertainment. Siblings are very welcome that day. Rather than children bringing their own snacks that day, we will be providing all the treats & snacks that day.
REMINDERS
- We would like to remind parents that all outdoor footwear be removed at the gymnasium doors. If outdoor footwear is not removed, the corridors and classroom areas do get wet and then those who have removed their footwear are getting wet feet. Your co-operation in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
- Your child must wear indoor shoes at all times, no slippers please.
- Please park in the designated parking areas. No drop offs in the NO PARKING ZONE.
- Please pick up your child promptly at dismissal to avoid tears.
- Please make sure your child comes to school with appropriate footwear to go to the park.
- Don't forget to collect your children's art work off the floor outside the classroom at the end of each day.
ROOM PARENTS
The best way to stay in touch with the happenings of your child's classroom is to contact your room parent. Please also contact your room parent with questions about volunteering duties & general comments or concerns.
