Millions of philanthropists

People at a paradeThe power of collective impact has been the subject of conferences and writing for years in the nonprofit sector, but those conversations have often focused on the collective impact of organizations. Individual donors can have collective impact as well, but the tools for donors to see themselves collectively are relatively new.

The Next in Nonprofits guest post for CommitChange talks more about how aggregating data from donors can change how the sector works. Join in the conversation with a free webinar on June 11. Register here and join us at 2 PM Central time.

All the tools at GiveMN.org

Give to the Max Day is probably the most well-known project of GiveMN.org, but the tools being built and refined at GiveMN can be used year-round to improve both the outreach work of a nonprofit and the financial outcomes.

Save the date now for a July 9 Webinar produced in collaboration with the GiveMN team, Steve Boland of Next in Nonprofits, and Peter Rachleff from the East Side Freedom Library to talk about their experience creating project fundraisers, and individual fundraising pages to support their collaborative project. And if you haven't given to the East Side Freedom Library just yet, check out their current project page to match the Knight Arts grant!

Using retail data for nonprofits

Sample data from ESRI BAONext in Nonprofits has been working with the Initiative Foundation's Financial Resiliency through Social Enterprise project, consulting with nonprofit clients considering earned revenue streams to help support their mission work. A key component is analyzing data to understand market potential for such supportive services.

Tools like the ESRI Business Analyst Online aggregate consumer information, census data, business reports and more to create a picture of overall spending for services in areas, and identify gaps which may complement nonprofit missions. Contact Next in Nonprofits if you'd like to learn more about using this data to support your work.
