South Africans Against Drunk Driving wishes to say a big thank you to all of our supporters who signed up to the free MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet programme.

Through you simply swiping your card at participating stores, SADD has received much needed funds, and it cost you nothing. We would appreciate it if you could forward this message to friends and family and encourage them to sign up too. 

The money has helped us continue in our counselling programme to families and victims of crashes as well as our educational programmes at education facilities around the country.

In the United Nations 3rd Global Road Safety Week (4th-10th May).  SADD‘s main event was a very moving play and presentation by the children of Bisley Park Primary who told the Mayor and dignitaries from Health, Traffic and the SAP's what they want done to make them safer on the roads. 2 974 children aged 0 – 19 are killed on South African roads every year, with many others being injured. This is very preventable! Our children (and especially the boys) are dying, or being seriously injured at an unacceptable rate.

If you think of the terrible xenophobia attacks where 7 people were killed in 2 weeks, and compare that to the 154 kids and 600 others who died in the same periods on our roads, you can see more pro-active work needs to be done for road safety.

Together we are helping to save lives. Thank you.
