With the new sick time regulations right around the corner, ECG is busy updating our clients’ Employee Handbooks!

Effective July 1, 2015, California’s new Healthy Workplaces, Healthy Families Act of 2014 will require most California employers to provide a new benefit to their employees: “Sick Time Leave”. Under this new law, all private and public employers are covered under this law, regardless of their size.  There is no exemption for small employers.  So if you haven’t started already, time is running out.  Make sure your employee handbook is up to date and includes this mandated employee benefit!

We are proud to be associated with “Pitchoun”, a new French Bakery that just opened last month downtown Los Angeles.  Owners Frederic and Fabienne Soulies retained ECG for their Human Resources set-up.  They are now in full compliance with their new Employee Handbook, all the required and HR best practices “forms”; new hire orientation power point and legal posters & pamphlets.   If you love French Bread and “real” French croissants, you’ll love Pitchoun!

About Pitchoun

“Pitchoun Bakery” is a French "Boulangerie & Patisserie Café" located downtown Los Angeles at Pershing Square; their doors opened in April, 2015.  Pitchoun Bakery offers home-made daily breads & pastries, organic coffee and beverages, French savory & sweet specialties, salads and sandwiches.  It is a fast casual dining place, open for breakfast lunch, happy hour, and brunch on weekends. Pitchoun also offers catering and answers special occasion requests for multi-portion pastries and products.

Their Family History

First and foremost, “Pitchoun Bakery” is a family story.  Owners Fabienne and Frederic Soulies, a French couple are both bread and pastry lovers.  Frederic comes from a long line of French family bakers and farmers.  He had a vision of bringing his passion for French breads, bakeries and pastries to the US; and luckily to Los Angeles!  Frederic inherited the love of natural organic, home grown produce, natural resources and the passion that stems from it.   Although having gone to college, Frederic’s passion for cooking brought him to graduate from the National School of Bakery in Paris.  Fabienne on her side inherited the knowledge of Mediterranean cuisine with an Italian twist from her parents.  Basically, both Fabienne and Frederic are lovers of exceptionally well prepared natural organic foods of all kind with a “penchant” for breads.
 

Pitchoun is located at 545 South Olive Street in Los Angeles – They are open Monday through Friday from 7am to 5pm; Saturday and Sunday from 8am to 4pm.
