Keeping a Calendar of Achievements
You’ve studied the science, you’ve read the books and you haven’t missed a lesson.  You are climbing up the mountain and have produced some beautiful results along the way.  Yet something still derails you from achieving all your health goals.  This may have left you feeling defeated and unsuccessful.  Some may even feel like they have let others down by not following through.  In my lessons, I ask that you keep a calendar and mark down all of your accomplishments.  Big or small, these are all mini successes and when combined, create your path to optimal health.   I have paved a guided path that is direct and sustainable, but you may choose a detour along the way.  This is nothing to get down about or feel less than awesome about.  Keep in mind this is your life path, and a side trip around the side of the mountain on your climb up must be exactly what you needed at that given time.  Smell the daisies and when you feel like joining us back on the fast track, regroup with us.  We will always be here to cheer you on.  It personally took me years to master a Protective Diet.  I paved the path of a Protective Diet utilizing nutritional science, my personal practice and my practical studies to produce fast and sustainable results.  This path isn’t something you must master in one try.  It is a goal to achieve and once mastered, you are home free to experience optimal health without struggle.

Some of my students just dip a toe in the water.  They start with the recipes and find out what healthy meals their family is receptive to.  They improve their health greatly incorporating a few whole food plant based meals a week.  They excite their kids to eat more veggies.  These are fantastic health improvements and should be celebrated.

I meet many who spend a great deal of time preparing to get started on a Protective Diet.  They spend weeks watching PD-Ed lessons and stocking a perfect pantry.  They practice cooking and then jump in when they feel like nothing can get in their way.  Sometimes it takes a few weeks to feel comfortable with the idea of a lifestyle change and sometimes it takes years.  There is still great progress achieved even when it is delayed due to perfectionism or fear.  All progress should be celebrated.

Then we have the divers.  They don’t even dip a toe in.  They dive in headfirst.  They might find out two weeks in that they have been consuming some hidden food additives or that coffee was promoting their inflammatory disease.  No big deal!  They have made notable improvements that keep them making more and adjusting as they learn.  They should be celebrating their progress and noting all their achievements.

If all of us kept a Calendar of Achievements, we could see how much we have achieved and celebrate success even when it feels like we haven’t made a bit of progress.   Don’t let another month pass you by without celebrating your success.  Please start a Calendar of Achievements today.  When the going gets tough or you find yourself on a detour on your path to optimal health, open up your Calendar of Achievements.  Sit yourself down and experience the sweet success of all that you have accomplished so far.  Reach out to me or one of our many successful friends in Protective Diet Living for support.  We are excited about your determination to achieve your health goals and your commitment to your health with the practice of a Protective Diet
