Here are some reasons as to why we believe that we are worthy as being the best Visitor Experience in the Swansea Bay area.
- We are past recipients of the Tourism Swansea Bay awards for Best Visitor Attraction and Best Visitor Experience
- We have recently been awarded a 2015 Tripadvisor certificate of excellence, the world's largest review site. It is our fourth certificate in a row! We rank #5 out of 131 'things to do' in Swansea with the top ten largely made up of beaches and gardens.
Dylan's holds it's own amidst natural beauty, quite incredible!
- We are the only Dylan Thomas based site where EVERY visitor receives a personal guided tour charting Dylan's life at No.5 and beyond only a daily basis.
- There are no 'red ropes' our visitors can handle objects and artefact's from the 1910s-1930s (under supervision) that the Thomas family and many others would have owned transporting you back in time to a different age. You are able to step into Dylan's tiny bedroom and immerse yourself into the site where some of the finest works of the 20th century were first penned.
- We don't do 'touch screen' we do personal interaction with good old fashioned conversation! You enter as a visitor and leave as a friend.
- Dylan's Birthplace is one of only a handful of literary houses that offer overnight stays helping to bring people closer than ever to their favourite poet and writer
- Dylan's Birthplace is truly unique, one of only a handful of literary houses that offer overnight stays, dinner parties and events that help to bring people closer than ever to their favourite poet and writer.
- Voting for us helps our aim of raising the profile and awareness of the most important address of Dylan's all too short life. Where he was born and created nearly 2/3rds of his incredible work!
- The house was restored as a 'labour of love' and is operated privately without the financial support of local authority or lottery funding, operating with 1 member of staff and 2 volunteers
