It's another Bank Holiday weekend approaching, but amidst all the offers of sales that will come flooding into your Inbox, here's a great range of opportunities from across the country! Help Us Create a New Scottish Craft Qualification

If you work in craft in Scotland, we need you. Creative & Cultural Skills has been asked to develop a new Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) for craft workers. We now require expert input to make it robust and useful to all those who may use it in the future.  The first of two questionnaires is now live - read on to find out more!

Hothouse Support for Emerging Makers

The Crafts Council runs a national programme of creative business support for craft makers within three years of setting up their practice.  Hothouse has successfully supported 163 makers over the last five years with 100% of participants saying it has enabled them to think differently about their practice.  Crafts Council will also be hosting three short events where you can join us to find out more about the programme and meet this year's 'intake', and there's one in Fife on 3 July.

Ceramicists: Sell Your Work at York Art Gallery

The Centre of Ceramic Art (CoCA) shop aims to offer a range of work by artists working with clay. It will offer ranges of high-end ceramics, affordable pieces and anything in between.  The CoCA shop is set to open in the summer of 2015 as part of a major £8 million development project of York Art Gallery.  The CoCA shop is now inviting artists and ceramicists working in clay to submit work to be selected for the shop.

Jerwood Drawing Prize 2015

Jerwood Drawing Prize is a joint initiative, led by Professor Anita Taylor, Dean of Bath School of Art and Design at Bath Spa University and supported by Jerwood Charitable Foundation through its contemporary gallery programme Jerwood Visual Arts in London and on tour nationally. The Jerwood Drawing Prize is open to all UK based artists, from student to established, working with drawing.
Once registered, artists are invited to submit their works through one of the regional collection centres: Edinburgh College of Art is a regional collection venue.
Deadline is 26 June 2015 at 5pm

UWS Alt-w Paisley Digital Art Commission

In support of the Scottish town of Paisley’s ambition to be UK City of Culture in 2021, the UWS Creative Media Academy and New Media Scotland’s Alt-w Fund with investment from Renfrewshire Council seek Expressions of Interest from artists in Europe for a £25k commission to make a new piece of work for the town.
Deadline is 12 June at 12 noon

2 Public Art Commissions, East Ayrshire Council

A total of £46,000 (2 x £23,000) has been secured for the purpose of commissioning artists work in the region.
Artists may apply as collaborative partnerships, or may apply as individuals. Artists may apply for one or both commissions.
Deadline is 26 June 2015 at 12.00
