Croatia a little bit differently

By Luka on May 23, 2015 07:49 am

A few days ago we finished a photography tour to Croatia. May is wonderful time to be there and we also had great photography opportunities. The group was wonderful, we had lots of fun and also lots of wine – I guess these two go well together. This was also my first time to work with Dan and Tanya, the owners of Natural Exposures photography tours. They are both very professional, well organized and above all very nice people. They run tours all around the world, focusing on nature ad wildlife and I do recommend them from my heart!

Here are a few photos from the tour – this time no classic shots or grand scenery that you see in promotional publications all the time.

Dubrovnik street

Typical street in Dubrovnik. Photographed while walking around the city walls. Recommended, great views all along the way.

Tourists at Hvar

Tourists waiting for a ferry at Hvar town. Yep – the season has definitely started!

Sage fields at Hvar

Hvar is famous for its lavender fields. At this time lavender is still all green, luckily sage is in bloom. Sage blossoms can be found everywhere around the island and it smells so nice!

Dalmatian scenery - Hvar

Typical landscape of Hvar island (and many other Dalmatian islands).

85 wine maker from Stari Grad

Antiša, 85 – still going strong, working in vineyards. I wish him many more years like this!

Road at Plitvice Lakes NP

No lakes or waterfalls from Plitvice this time. The forests are just wonderful, lush, quiet, away from all tourist crowds.

Wild garlic fields at Plitvice NP

Wild garlic fields are at full bloom. What a beautiful sight!

Friendly lady at Grožnjan

We met Nada at Grožnjan – one of Istria’s beautiful hilltop towns. She was selling fritule (little donut like sweets). A warm smile and a couple of fritulas make your day nicer!

Motovun town

Walking a dog at Motovun.

Adriatic sea

Beautiful sky above Adriatic sea. At Rovinj.

Roman theater at Pula

One of the coolest things in Istria is definitely Roman amphitheater at Pula.
