The CP Motivator e-news!

  June 2015

The supportive environment within CP is so cool and it is illustrated time and time again.  Those that helped out with the pace running and lead biking at the marathon (make sure that you check out Rob's write up), cheering each other at events and groups sessions, the support of our current charity Autism NZ, plus our fantastic coaches going above and beyond to support the team.

Keep it up - Richard (CP Head Honcho and Editor)

KAYAK TECHNIQUE TIP - CHRIS STAGG

Balance = Power THEREFORE Power = Speed

THE INVISIBLE PADDLE: Balance and Muscle Awareness

After your next hard paddle engage in this exercise:
  1. Come to a stop somewhere stable or in reach of a bank.
  2. Place your paddle down somewhere its not going to float or blow away... Click here for more

CP MEDIA TEAM - 2015 SPEIGHT'S COAST TO COAST

With our 2015 Coast to Coast uploaded and out in internet land for you to enjoy we are already plotting our 2016 angle on the race... so watch this space.

HIGH COUNTRY BREVET 2015 - NINA MCVICAR

Although some people finished midday Sunday, and we finished a day and a half later, it is
all about what you want to get out of the adventure. The roads less travelled are
pretty darn beautiful, and everyone has a story or a treat to share to get you out of a
dark place. So, to sum up, it was AWESOME, EPIC, and so much FUN! Click here for the whole story

TRIG BAGGING AN UPDATE - FLEUR PAWSEY

The 2015 season is underway, and defending champion Jacob has made a flying start. Seven days in and seven trigs collected. Not bad, not bad at all. Jenny is on even score with Jacob - the big question is whether he'll resort to sneaky solo tribagging missions this year to make a break! Warren has been the first to collect a trig by bike, and Nicole paddled her way out to Somes Island, Wellington, for our first kayak/hike trig of the season.

Are you feeling like you need an adventure? Get onto www.linz.govt.nz, find the geodetic database, and plan your mission. There are trigs for the bagging all over the place - you'll be surprised!

Post your entries on the CP Facebook page, or send to fleur@completeperformance.co.nz. Don't forget, if you're wearing your CP top in your entry you're straight in the draw for our 'Get Spotted' competition. That's two competitions for the effort of one - get amongst it I say!

CHRISTCHURCH MARATHON 2015 - PACE RUNNING ROB ABRAAS

I think the first time a stranger (fellow runner) asked “how’s the pace?” was at the 3km mark. It was about here that I realised a lot of people were counting on us bringing them home at 2:10! As the 10km people peeled off for the finish line the mood of the runners around us changed. For some this was the longest they had ever run, for most I reckon they realised it had just got real.   Click here for the full report
