Meet David McFarland:
The Next Editor of CJSLPA
SAC is pleased to announce that David H. McFarland, PhD,
S-LP, ASHA Fellow has been appointed as the next Editor of the Canadian Journal of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology (CJSLPA). Dr. McFarland is Full Professor in the school of speech-language pathology and audiology of the University of Montreal and Adjunct in the school of communication sciences and disorders of McGill University.
In addition to bringing nearly three decades of research expertise to the position, Dr. McFarland has published extensively in numerous well-respected Canadian, American and international journals. His textbook, Netter's Atlas of Anatomy for Speech, Swallowing, and Hearing, which was originally published in French, has been translated into five other languages. He also recently served a four-year term as Associate Editor of the Journal of Speech, Language and Hearing Research.
Dr. McFarland is passionate about Canadian clinical and scientific research and believes that it is imperative for practicing audiologists and speech-language pathologists to have access to high-quality, evidence-based research to help them best serve their patients and clients.
Dr. McFarland's three-year term as Editor of CJSLPA will officially begin in January 2016, when he will take the reigns from current Editor, Elizabeth Fitzpatrick, PhD, Aud(C). SAC is confident that under Dr. McFarland's direction and leadership, CJSLPA will continue to thrive and reach new heights of excellence.
