2. The FinCEAL Infobank competition is back!
The FinCEAL Infobank is a multidisciplinary database of research and capacity building projects carried out by the Finnish research community on/in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean. Market your expertise and win a Travel Grant of 1500€ by registering your project to the Infobank by August 28! More information
3. Results from FinCEAL+ Open Travel Grant Call
The first FinCEAL Plus Open Call for Travel Grants closed on May 15th 2015. We received 36 applications and awarded a total of 30 grants (of which 21 grants were for researchers and 9 for PhD candidates). 12 grants were awarded for Africa-related travel, 11 for LAC and 7 for Asia. See results here
4. Preparing a proposal for Horizon2020 with partners from Africa, Asia or the LAC region?
FinCEAL Plus offers Project Preparatory Funding on a rolling call basis to support applicants based in Finnish institutions who are in the process of preparing an application for collaborative research funding from European research funding schemes. 5. FinCEAL Plus delegation attended the ASEAN-EU STI Days in Paris on 17-19 March 2015
The ASEAN-EU Science, Technology and Innovation Days were organized in Paris by Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS). Almost 300 people participated. FinCEAL Plus attended the event with a delegation of five Finnish experts in the fields of health, renewable energy and food security and safety. Read the delegation's full report here.
6. FinCEAL Plus Kick-Off: Asia Networking session organized in Helsinki on 15th April 2015
The Asia Networking session on the afternoon of 15th April at Helsinki Congress Paasitorni gathered together about 40 participants. The first part of the session featured presentations on the topics related to the thematic focus areas of FinCEAL Plus Asia such as renewable energy, ICT and water management. The second part of the session was an interactive networking workshop for researchers and actors focusing on Asia in Finland. Read more
