Alum Vesla M. Weaver (Ph.D. '07) and co-author Amy E. Lerman are the recipients of this year's American Political Science Association award for Best Book in Urban Politics for their book, Arresting Citizenship: The Democratic Consequences of American Crime Control, University of Chicago Press, 2014.

Vesla M. Weaver is now an Associate Professor of African American Studies and Political Science at Yale University.
