Montclair Library Kids Book Club - 4:00pm
Do you like to read and talk about books? Every month, we have a lively discussion about our selected book. Books are generally aimed at 4th-6th graders. Snacks will be provided!  This months' book: The Odyssey: A Graphic Novel by Gareth Hinds.  The book club will not meet over the summer--but we will start up again in the fall!

PAWS to Read with BARK Therapy Dogs - 1:30pm
Kids! Come practice reading to a gentle dog. Practice your reading skills, pet a dog and just have fun.

DIY: Jewelry-Making for Teens! - 2:00-3:00pm
In this fun, free, hands-on workshop,  artists from the Rock Paper Scissors Collective will guide you in creating your own beautiful jewelry. All workshop supplies are provided.

Songs, active rhymes and stories especially for ages 18 months to 3 years, followed by playtime! Make new friends and play with toys.

Baby Bounce - 11:30am
Play, sing and rhyme one on one with your baby from birth to 18 months, followed by playtime! Make new friends and play with toys.

Lawyers in the Library - 6:00-8:00pm
Lawyers in the Library: Free legal advice and referrals.  Second Tuesday of each month. Register by phone starting one week in advance at 510-482-7810.  Volunteer lawyer leaves before 7pm if no more people are present.

Summer Reading Challenge begins - "Read to the Rhythm"
For kids and adults, the library is offering its annual Summer Reading Challenge, with various incentives designed to get people reading and visiting the library. Teens can participate in the Teen Summer Passport, a fun program that encourages teens to engage with their community while visiting cultural spots around the Bay Area.

Second Annual Mystery Night @ the Montclair Library - 6:30-8:00pm
Local author Steven Gore will talk about his latest Harlan Donnally novel, Night is the Hunter, and share writing advice for others who may be interested in pursuing a similar career in the crime genre.

Books will be available for sale and signing courtesy of A Great Good Place for Books. This event is co-sponsored by the Oakland Public Library and the Friends of the Montclair Library.
