2015 Leadership & Management Weekend
Following the previous highly successful Leadership & Management Weekends (since 2011 ) for newly appointed District Commissioners and Group Scout Leaders, we have scheduled the one for 2015 over the weekend of 21st/22nd  November 2015 at the Holiday Inn, Eastleigh.

This weekend is open to all DC’s/DDC’s and GSL’s who have been in post for up to 24 months.
A number of applications have already been received but there are still places available.  More details will be issued over the coming weeks, but in the meantime, please notify your wish to attend to Donna Kerrigan, Director of Adult Learning on ctm@scouts-hants.org.uk quickly to save disappointment (previous weekends were oversubscribed!).
Short Breaks Funding
Hampshire County Scout Council (HCSC) has been successful in procuring some Short Breaks Funding to support Scouts (aged 6-18years) who live in Hampshire. Any Scout applying for funding must be registered with Hampshire County Council for a Gateway Card. Regrettably this funding does not apply to people living within the administrative boundaries of Southampton City Council or Portsmouth City Council. Funding applies to FY2015-2016.

If the Scout does not have a carer – parents / Leaders are asked to contact Parent Voice who will arrange for a suitable person to attend scout evenings. Please contact Parent Voice 0300 303 8603 or parentvoice@roseroad.org.uk

Funding may be used for a carer to attend Scout evenings or Scout activity. It does not apply to sleepovers or overnight camping activities.

Once the application has been approved for funding, County Office will liaise with the carer to pay the attendance money.

Please find attached the HCSC Application Form which needs to be competed in full and returned to aileen.wood@isdsc.org.uk or Carol Sleath special.needs@scouts-hants.org.uk as soon as possible.

For further information please contact Carol Sleath (ACC SN) or Aileen Wood (Safeguarding Team) at the above email address.

Wanted Gold Chief Scout Award Badges
I urgently require 10 x Gold Chief Scout Award Badges, if any Badge Secretaries have any please get in touch.

Ann Hall - County Badge Secretary
les_ann@live.co.uk
Plea for obsolete and discontinued badges please...
As part of my role I visit schools to promote scouting.  During the presentation some of the children receive a ‘badge’ for their participation and involvement.
We also use these badges for the Naomi House project when we run Caterpillar Camp – they are very well received by the young people.

If your group or district is wondering what to do with badges left over after the introduction of the refresh programme can you consider donating them to the development project please?  They will not be wasted!

Thank you to the 2 groups who have already thought of doing this, if you drop me a line I will arrange collection.

Many thanks
