We are saddened to write that John Robinson, Membership and Communications Manager at ARC, was knocked from his bicycle on Sunday 7 June. Tragically John died from the injuries he sustained.

John had worked for ARC for 16 years and in that time was known and loved by the many people who came into contact with him.  John began with ARC as a designer, which he was particularly skilled at.  All ARC publications, web materials and Real People were made striking and beautiful because of the way in which John approached them.  We are a small team at ARC and over the years John undertook many roles within the organisation, always bringing his gentle, dedicated approach as well as a clear vision of what ARC could achieve to make a difference.

We have already had many lovely messages from throughout the ARC community expressing the deep sense of loss people are feeling at the early death of such a special person. We are trying to come to terms with losing a deeply loved colleague and friend but our thoughts are especially with John’s partner and their two young sons.

ARC England
are pleased to comment on this important Green Paper. Many of our members have experience where the system has got it badly wrong for individuals.

We are concerned that the Green Paper does not go far enough to draw in providers of support, or recognise the essential knowledge and expertise that there is in the sector.
