Welcome, summer!
The Nexus Energy Center has kicked off summer doing BIG events with our TINY Green Home, and we've loved every minute of it!
In addition to our traveling tiny home, we've been continuing work on our Comfort Project and offering energy assessment assistance for local structures such as the historic Humphreys-Rodgers House. Read on to learn more!

Tiny Green Home Viewing Party a success!
Nexus is so excited that we had a packed house for our Tiny Green Home Viewing Party at Straight to Ale!
We had a blast letting people see the Tiny Green Home first hand and showing our sincere appreciation for all of the volunteers, donors, and sponsors that made the Tiny Green Home possible.
Video footage documenting the construction process of the tiny home from start to finish was premiered, as well as behind-the-scenes footage from our project with national reality show Tiny House Nation.
Many thanks to Straight to Ale for having us, and we hope to see everyone again soon at upcoming Nexus events, like our July Water Workshop!

Nexus Energy Center helps historic Huntsville landmark save energy
One of the newest projects for the Nexus Energy Center has been providing energy audit assistance for the historic Humphreys-Rodgers House.
Historic buildings like this are a vital part of our community's history, but often have high utility costs - especially when they are open to the public for viewing and must maintain comfortable interior temperatures.
Nexus was happy to answer the call for help, and is proud to help preserve our community's history for generations to come!

Tiny Green Home outfitted with water conservation feature
Thanks to our friends at the Water Wheels Water Conservation Laboratory, the Tiny Green Home now has a rainwater collection system!
Now our tiny home will be an educational model not only for energy conservation, but water conservation as well.
Future plans for the Tiny Green Home include installing a filtration system so our collected rainwater may be used in the bathroom shower and sink, as well as the kitchen.
