It's Almost Summer Time!

The sun is shining, the temperature is rising, we are so excited for the summer and hope you are too!

Words from our President

Dear CPABC Members,

Hope everyone is enjoying the good weather so far.

My family started our summer with a trip to the Cariboo Cowboy Country. We went to the Echo Valley Guest Ranch where I learned the basics of horseback riding. Looking at my picture with Sidney, I really enjoyed becoming a weekend cowboy.  Riding and ranching is something I want to pursue further when life gets less busy for me.  After the ranch, we drove another 450km to see the   magnificent scenery of Lillooet, Pemberton, and Whistler. Despite the long drive, Stella, Sidney, and I had a great time on our first family vacation.  I look forward  to exploring more of our beautiful BC this summer!

While you are enjoying the summer, please check out upcoming dates and topics about our programs and services in this newsletter and don’t stop believing…

Pioneer’s Commitment to Accessibility Lives On

During her life, Pat Hardy led the way for people living with disabilities –literally. The Canadian founder of Wings on Wheels, Pat used her experience living with Cerebral Palsy to organize and lead travel tours for others with disabilities. When not travelling the world, she found time to work with the Indoor Sports Club. Sadly, Pat passed away in 2014, but her bequest to the CPABC will help to ensure that her vision of accessibility continues to be supported. We are grateful for her example, and her thoughtful legacy. Please consider a gift to the CPABC as a part of your personal estate planning.
May is National Leave a Legacy Month.

Please consider supporting CPABC's Planned Giving Program.
