July's Journey
Do you ever think about what kind of mark you're going to leave on this world?
I'd love for you to start thinking about that with me. I'm afraid that in all the rushing, striving, climbing, and surviving that we forget that we are on this earth for a purpose. If more of us begin to move, act, respond and contribute in a purposeful and intentional way, perhaps we'll find that we can make a difference; that we can change things; that we can improve our own lives and the lives of others.
Let's stop the inaction, the paralysis by analysis. We are not here to sit by idly and take up a random space; we're here to fulfill a need, minuscule as that contribution may be. If we are really living our lives, we've made mistakes. We'll continue to make mistakes, but if mistakes stop us from moving forward toward the fulfillment of our life's purpose, then this world is in a very sad state of affairs.
I cannot imagine living without purpose. It's purpose that motivates me to get up every morning. It's purpose that keeps pushing me forward when I think I can't possibly take another blow. It's purpose that fills me with joy and gratitude for every breath I take - because that means I still have a chance to get this life right. I "intend" to leave a big, messy, colorfully beautiful mark on this world. Will you please join me?
