Environment - Shoreline Revegetation

As discussed at our last AGM, our Club has a number of obligations to comply with under the Quebec Law on the Quality of the Environment with regards to our docks, island facilities, potable water, etc. The MRC des Collines de l'Outaouais also has a number of regulations regarding shorelines protection and water quality and the Municipality of Chelsea has the obligation to enforce and ensure compliance with these regulations. To that effect we received the attached letter listing the legal obligations of waterfront property owners which we invite you to read for your information. As a follow up to that letter, the Municipality organised last week a workshop on Shoreline Revegetation where the GRYC was represented. Here is for your information a copy of the very interesting presentation that was given at that time.

To comply with all those regulations, we have hired a shoreline regeneration specialist who will soon provide us with a management plan to comply with the municipal regulations and we will soon have completed the plans regarding the new Bridge dock which will have to be installed this year.  When we are ready to undertake the work (plant shrubs, trees, limit trail access, build/install new dock) we will organize work groups which will be announced through our newsletter and registration to be made through our IVolunteer program.

Thank you all for your future collaboration.
