The 3rd Annual Warrior Beach Week will take place September 8-13, in Bethany Beach, Delaware.

Summer Sun

The summer sun has arrived with July 4 coming fast!!  The 2015 Warrior Families will be arriving on September 8 --- just 66 days from July 4!!!!!!

JULY 4TH REMINDER:  The Independence Day festivities kick off at noon with the big parade down and around Bethany Beach. There will be dozens of colorful floats and hundreds of participants from local organizations and businesses. Bands will be playing and we will celebrate our country’s independence in this festive atmosphere. Operation SEAs the Day will proudly participate with its WARRIOR float as we continue to honor the many brave men and women who have and who continue to serve and sacrifice to preserve our independence. Come early and get a good seat along the parade route.

There will be contests and activities on the beach during the day leading up to the spectacular fireworks at dusk. Don’t miss it.

Operation SEAs the Day Mission:
To organize and facilitate a beach week event for our wounded soldiers and their families as a means of showing our appreciation for their service and sacrifice. It is our hope that such a community-based gesture of support will be comforting and help ease their transition back into civilian life.

Poster Pal Project

We're excited to say that the Poster Pal Project is off to a great start!!   As a way to connect families visiting Bethany throughout the summer to Operation SEAs the Day, We'll be setting up poster-making stations at the Bethany Farmer’s Market on Sundays during the summer where residents and visitors can stop by to decorate their own welcome sign for our warrior VIFs (Very Important Families).  These signs are used to welcome the Warrior Families as they arrive the morning of September 8th on the street leading to the VFW.  The posters will be also be out at Freeman Stage on the September 11th as well as the Farewell Breakfast where the families can select their favorite poster to take home.

A BIG Shout Out

  • Thank you to Boy Scout Troup 382 Dagsboro for your support every Sunday in implementing the Poster Pal Project. Your enthusiastic guidance to families and their children is making a great impact on creating new WELCOME posters for the 2015 Warrior Beach week (pictured above, from left to right, Donavin Tallarico, Vinny Tallarico, Josiah Aiken, Rosely Robinson).
  • To all the businesses that have come onboard to support the Wounded Warrior Families and continue to do so over the years.   Everyone look for PROUD SUPPORTER signs of the 3rd Annual Warrior Beach Week in the business’ window throughout the summer. Thank you to all of these great businesses!!
  • A BIG THANK YOU to the Delmarva Hand Dancing Club for their generous donation and recognition of Operation SEAs the Day.  The Delmarva Hand Dance Club is a group that promotes a type of dance from the 50s and 60s.   A smooth style noted for hand turns to the best of moderate tempo rhythm and blues music.   They meet every Wednesday at the Fenwick Inn in Ocean City --- everyone is welcome to join in on the fun!

Home Donations

Thank you for the many beautiful homes for use by the Wounded Warrior families and their caregivers! Your generosity is the backbone of Operation SEAs The Day and an example of how an American small town has not forgotten what these brave Americans have sacrificed for our peaceful way of life. We have again been able to fill all of our needs for housing in 2015. Thank you to everyone who have been so generous and all who continue to offer their homes. We are all set with home donations for this year.
