Remember
Jenny
In the quiet stillness of the morning
Revelations bound around.
Life goes on around me
Breaking the quiet.
Thoughts of the undone
Float around with fog.
The memories bring less pain
But you start to feel numb.
Remember his lessons.
Never fear a question
Always find the humor in life.
And don't wait for tomorrow.

Family Programs
Heather
Family Programs is coming to the Gardens!
Church of the Earth has always welcomed everyone to their open worship circles. Having a young child sitting through a ritual with a lot of talking and not much doing can be boring for a youngster. Starting this year, Church of the Earth will begin offering Family Programs, which will include the workings in a sacred space that families complete together to allow parents and children to work together on their spiritual journey.
Family Programs is not a "Sunday School". We will not be caring for your children. We will not be teaching your children anything. This is an opportunity for children [kids from 1-92+] to get involved in a fun activity that is spiritually centered. Parents will have opportunities to make each activity their own to match the path they follow.
Family Programs will repeat every third Sunday of every other month, taking place of the second Sunday Worship Circle of that month. The next two dates for Family Programs are 7/19 and 11/15.

High Priestess
Tamara
The Council of the Church of the Earth, in order to create balance with the spiritual leadership we get from our pastor, recently chose to appoint a High Priestess. As a woman-positive and majority-female congregation, it seemed obvious that we needed a woman of wisdom to offer counsel to our members.
These days there are many paths that lead to the title of High Priestess, but the one true way of deserving the title is by earning it. A High Priestess is given that honor by her community. A High Priestess has the respect not only of her own group, but of the community in general.
Not only has Laurel organized our events, listened to our problems, and helped to keep the peace at the Church of the Earth for many years, she is an assistant organizer of one of the world’s largest Tarot social groups, and is a key member of the leadership team for the third largest Pagan Pride Day event in the world.
For these reasons and many more, this year at Imbolc the Council of the Church of the Earth ordained Laurel as our High Priestess.
We would like to thank you Laurel, for taking on this responsibility and for helping to guide us with your words, deeds and wisdom.

From the Editor
Stephanie Shinn
Spring, unfortunately, hit me hard, which is why there was no newsletter back in March. For that, I apologize. But here we are, soon to see Midsummer and Father's Day come to pass. Life moves on and the Wheel turns.
As the times change, so does the newsletter, albeit in a small way. In addition to submitting prose and poetry for the newsletter, you may now also submit visual art for consideration. We ask that all submissions be family-friendly and that you note a title (if any) and how you would like to be attributed.
I look forward to having more visual art and more member interaction.
Please send all submissions to steph@cote-nc.org with the word "newsletter" in the title.

This program allows us to maintain Gaia's Gardens and other projects that benefit the Pagan community. Instead of depending almost entirely on cash donations dropped in the jar at events, we are asking those who can to pledge as little as $5 a month using their credit card through PayPal. Our goal is to reach $300 a month, and we have gotten the ball rolling with a total of $175 a month so far. Click here if you would like to become part of this project to sustain our gardens

To keep the newsletter to a more manageable size, the list of shops, events, and groups is now available as a google document which anyone can view. This also allows us to keep the list up-to-date more easily.
