SEASON UPDATE
The AdamBots concluded the season with a banquet and wrap-up meeting while continuing outreach for the community. On May 17th, the AdamBots volunteered at the Make a Wish Foundation's Ducky Races in Rochester Municipal Park by collecting and counting rubber ducks after the race. In addition, the Van Hoosen and Hart FTC teams were welcomed into our school on May 27th to participate in a programming workshop taught by experienced AdamBots programmers so that they would be more comfortable with their new systems for the next competition season.
Additionally, the AdamBots competed in our first off-season FIRST event. The Michigan Advanced Robotics Competition (MARC) was held at Monroe High School in Monroe, Michigan on June 19th and June 20th. We were picked on the 6th alliance and joined alliance captain team 217 and teams 469 and 1528. Although we ended the quarter-finals with an average of 99.5, competition was tough, and we did not proceed to the semi-finals. However, MARC was a valuable experience for the AdamBots and we enjoyed competing with the best teams from Michigan and elsewhere.
Additionally, the AdamBots are very happy for the CyberCats, who also competed at MARC. The CyberCats, team 5436, competed on the 1st alliance along with teams 33, 67, and 910. Their alliance placed 2nd in MARC! We are very proud of the CyberCats' achievements.
Overall, the AdamBots have participated in many outreach and wrap-up activities in May and June. We are looking forward to competing in the Indiana Robotics Invitational (IRI) in July and kicking off our next season in a few months. As always, the AdamBots are grateful for the support of all mentors, parents, and sponsors that make these opportunities to compete and learn possible.
