2016 St. Georges Day Awards.

We are of course aware that with Compass being out of action, submitting SGDA's this year may be more difficult. However we are sure you have been planning them for some time, and the recent note in Focus Plus will help with any queries relating to eligibility, time in scouting etc.etc.

It is important we get all nominations into County Office by Friday 24th July latest so they can be processed by the County Awards Board in time for the Gilwell deadline of 1st September.

Further information relating to the submission of Awards can be found on scouts.org and many DC'S attended the Award workshop in April.

Please send all nominations direct to County Office and let me know if you have any queries.

Short Breaks Funding
Hampshire County Scout Council (HCSC) has been successful in procuring some Short Breaks Funding to support Scouts (aged 6-18years) who live in Hampshire. Any Scout applying for funding must be registered with Hampshire County Council for a Gateway Card. Regrettably this funding does not apply to people living within the administrative boundaries of Southampton City Council or Portsmouth City Council. Funding applies to FY2015-2016.

If the Scout does not have a carer – parents / Leaders are asked to contact Parent Voice who will arrange for a suitable person to attend scout evenings. Please contact Parent Voice 0300 303 8603 or parentvoice@roseroad.org.uk

Funding may be used for a carer to attend Scout evenings or Scout activity. It does not apply to sleepovers or overnight camping activities.

Once the application has been approved for funding, County Office will liaise with the carer to pay the attendance money.

Please find attached the HCSC Application Form which needs to be competed in full and returned to aileen.wood@isdsc.org.uk or Carol Sleath special.needs@scouts-hants.org.uk as soon as possible.

For further information please contact Carol Sleath (ACC SN) or Aileen Wood (Safeguarding Team) at the above email address.
