Celebration of Life
Leslie Feinberg, Radical Visionary - ¡Presente!
Rev. David Carl Olson
11 a.m. in the Sanctuary
Beacon Press published Leslie Feinberg’s volume Transgender Warriors: Making History from Joan of Arc to RuPaul 20 years ago, a publication that spoke to the social construction of gender throughout the human story. It also called for a new consciousness that might break down divisions among the human family that the great majority of people might unite for the establishment of economic justice. Is there a message more important today? We remember Leslie who died last November, but whose presence vibrates in the Baltimore Uprising. (Note: while Baltimore Pride has been moved to July this year, we have chosen to celebrate during June as well.)

O's Vouchers are Back!
You can score a guaranteed win on your next trip to Camden Yards. For every $15 ticket voucher you buy at First Unitarian, the Orioles donate $5 to the church. We received 150 vouchers to sell--if we sell them all, that's $750 for the church! Each voucher is good for a lower reserve seat or you can use it to upgrade.
In the meantime, buy vouchers for your family and friends, and enjoy a day at the Yard! Tickets are on sale during coffee hour or you can contact Aubrey in the church office to make your purchase. Play Ball!

Our Change for Change partner for June, July & August
Our Change for Change partner for the summer months (June, July & August) is the UMAR Youth and Boxing Program, located on West North Avenue. Social Action Clearinghouse (SAC) members visited the program in May and saw youth doing homework and studying with mentors from the community. We met youth who hold boxing titles in Maryland and the region and are contenders for the Junior Olympics. UMAR is a boxing gym where education comes first: "no hooks before books". Other program goals focus on job readiness, good citizenship and high self-esteem. More information is available during Fellowship Hour at the SAC table.
