Tragedy in Charleston

SWU mourns loss of admissions counselor

As the world mourns for the nine victims in the wake of the tragic June 17 shooting at Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, SWU is mourning the loss of DePayne Doctor, admissions coordinator at the Charleston learning center. She was attending Bible study at the historic church and is among the victims. Read more>>
Rev. Ken Dill, university chaplain, leads in a service of prayer and remembrance for Doctor and the other eight Charleston church shooting victims this past Friday. SWU administration and employees were joined by members of the surrounding community at the Sheriff National Guard Memorial Flag Plaza, under flags being flown at half-staff. Dill called the victims' names as SWU employees set nine red roses beside the fountain at the plaza's center. The service, which began with remarks from President Todd Voss, concluded with Greg Day, professor of music, playing on his trumpet "Amazing Grace."
Guidance counselors from across the state pose with the Warrior Mascot as they arrive at SWU's Central campus. They were participants in the S.C. Guidance Counselor Bus Tour June 18. While at SWU, the counselors toured the campus and met with President Todd Voss, along with faculty, staff and students. The stop was topped off by a delicious lunch at the Dining Commons.

Several SWU employees went to JAM (Jenzabar Annual Meeting) in Nashville at the end of May. In addition to learning valuable information concerning SWU’s operating system, they were able to tour the Grand Ole Opry

Sounds like a plan!

The North Augusta learning center hosted another great workshop, part of the Business Academy Series, presented in conjunction with the North Augusta Chamber and SCORE

Vacations

For 12-month employees, remember that your vacation leave should be used by June 30, the end of our employment/fiscal year. Please work with your supervisor to schedule this time off. Research shows that employees and the organizations they work for benefit when earned vacation time is taken.  We all have to recharge so that we can return to work refreshed and reenergized!

Download the attached flyer to find out how to receive this discount.  Please note:  The email registration process listed on the flyer won't work because SWU shares that domain with both students and staff.
